On enduring rain-washed building
Letters carved with careful hands
Speak of faith and life before us,
But that’s not where our faith ends.

For TODAY Christ stands before us
And my friends fail to comprehend
That Jesus died, resurrected, and lives among us
Today and tomorrow with no end.

I do not need letters on old buildings
I do not rest on memories that are not mine
His hand is present in my life NOW
Behold and discover this mystery divine.

From the gospel of John, chapter 14, verse 25-26
I am telling you these things now while I am still with you. But when the Father sends the Advocate as my representative—that is, the Holy Spirit—he will teach you everything and will remind you of everything I have told you.
